|I adore it regularly when German music leans into folk or metal, and amazingly, for once, we have quite a large representation of that on offer in Germany’s selection. ‘Melodies Of Hope’ is certainly more of the former, and is definitely the most joyful of this selection. It’s really rousing and beautiful. I don’t want to curse it and say it would be locked on for Eurovision success but it’s been a while since the German entry has been anything more than an afterthought. Patty Gurdy would surely solve that problem, she’s charismatic and cheery and who can say no to such a bright song at any time.|
