Luke Black will represent Serbia at Eurovision 2023

Pesma za Evroviziju 23 has come to an exciting close after a week of fierce competition in the Serbian capital of Belgrade. The contest was held in RTS Studio 8, and was hosted by Milan Marić and Dragana Kosjerina, with Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović providing commentary from the green room. This is the second year Serbia has used Песма за Евровизију (“Song for Eurovision”) to choose their entry.

Throughout the final, sixteen talented artists from across Serbia took to the stage to perform their original songs, each vying for the opportunity to represent the Balkan powerhouse at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. The contest was a thrilling showcase of Serbia’s diverse musical talent, with numerous genres and styles represented, while all songs were sung in Serbian.

After a night of electrifying performances, the winner of “Pesma za Evroviziju 23” was announced to be Luke Black with “Samo mi se spava” having impressed the Serbian public and professional jury, each having a 50% say in the voting.

As Luke Black prepares to take on the international stage at Eurovision 2023, fans of Serbian music are eagerly anticipating the chance to see how they will fare against the best of Europe with the national final being a testament to the vibrancy and diversity of Serbia’s music scene.

Serbia payed tribute to The Beatles and Liverpool with numerous performances of the bands hit songs by a tribute band known as The Bestbeat which featured a mesmerizing dance number. The band performed alongside several different performers as fans awaited the voting results. After having a fully Serbian song selection, the entire set of interval performances were in English.

Last year, Konstrakta placed 5th in the grand final with “In corpore sano” garnering 312 points after qualifying from the second semifinal. Konstrakta also won the Artistic Marcel Bezençon Award. Luke Black will perform “Samo mi se spava” in Liverpool in the first half of the first semifinal on 9 May.
