This morning on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 the presenter and Eurovision commentator revealed he has had an exclusive listen to the chosen United Kingdom entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
United Kingdom entry for Eurovision 2025 has been chosen
Today, Scott Mills announced live on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 that the BBC has selected the entry that will represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 on the Basel stage this May.
Although the DJ and Eurovision commentator could not reveal much about the latest British act to represent the nation, Scott declared live on BBC Radio 2 that, “it’s good!”. However, this is the first public confirmation from those within the BBC that an act and entry has been chosen.
How has the UK act been chosen?
Following confirmation of the BBC’s continued participation in the Eurovision Song Contest last July, the BBC has remained very tight lipped on its internal selection.
In a press release last October, the broadcaster confirmed that the search for the next UK representative has been underway throughout the Summer off-season. The act and their song will be announced before the March deadline.
Leading the search is David May alongside Andrew Cartmell, (Executive Producer BBC Studios North). Both will be working with UK record Labels, Publishers, Songwriters, BBC Music and BBC Introducing to secure an artist and song that will take to the Eurovision stage for the United Kingdom in Basel, Switzerland next May.
Of course, David May has 17-years of experience within the entertainment industry. David is a Music Manager and accomplished singer-songwriter with over 200 million streams for his work. Back in 2022 he managed Sam Ryder, who achieved the UK’s best result since 1998 with runner-up position in Turin for, ‘Space Man’.

Really not impressed. The general public should make the choice and not some conglomerate that thinks they rule the airwaves and music industry.
I completely agree.
After last years disaster the vote must be given back to the general public like it used to be in the past.
And we need more than 6 mediocre entries.
There are plenty of talented writers and composers as well as artists ready to win this again for the United Kingdom.
