Italy’s Annalisa has triumphed in the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2024 with her song Sinceramente. The contest, hosted in Borås, Sweden, saw 16 countries competing, and Annalisa’s emotional performance earned Italy 364 points, securing their fourth victory in the contest’s history.
The OGAE Second Chance Contest is an annual event organized by the international Eurovision fan club network OGAE, where songs that didn’t make it to the Eurovision Song Contest from national selections are given another opportunity to shine. This year’s competition, the 38th edition, featured guest juries alongside OGAE fan club members from around the world who voted for their favorite non-Eurovision entries.
Annalisa faced stiff competition from Sweden’s Jacqline, who finished second with Effortless, earning 252 points, and Norway’s KEiiNO, who secured third place with Damdiggida, accumulating 238 points. Finland’s Sara Siipola rounded out the top four with Paskana.
This marks Annalisa’s second victory in the OGAE Second Chance Contest, her first being in 2018 with Il mondo prima di te. She becomes only the second artist to win the contest twice, following Sweden’s Alcazar, who won in 2003 and 2005.
