Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey Step Down as Australia’s Eurovision Commentators

After nearly a decade as the voices of Eurovision for Australia, Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey are bidding farewell to the glitter and glam of the commentary booth. The dynamic duo, who began their Eurovision journey with SBS in 2017, have announced their decision to step aside, making way for a new commentary team in 2025.

In a heartfelt statement, Myf and Joel expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to bring the Eurovision Song Contest to Australian audiences. “We’ve absolutely adored watching our Australian artists compete and bringing that experience to our dedicated fans,” they said. “While it’s time to hang up our glitter microphones, we look forward to cheering on SBS and the new hosts from our couches next year.”

SBS and Blink TV, the production company behind Australia’s Eurovision efforts, also paid tribute to the pair. Emily Griggs, SBS’s Head of Delegation, praised their “passion, knowledge, and undeniable chemistry” that brought the magic of Eurovision into Australian homes. Paul Clarke, Australia’s Creative Director, highlighted their ability to capture the joy and camaraderie central to Eurovision, calling their contribution “gold.”

Since their debut in 2017, Myf and Joel have become beloved fixtures of the Eurovision experience, combining Myf’s music expertise with Joel’s comedic flair to create broadcasts that resonate with fans across the country. Their banter, enthusiasm, and dedication have made Eurovision a staple in Australian households each May.

While SBS has not yet revealed who will step into the commentary roles for 2025, both Emily Griggs and Paul Clarke teased the announcement of a new dynamic duo. “Watch this space,” Clarke hinted, suggesting big plans ahead for next year’s broadcasts.
