After several heavy Super Saturdays, the Eurovision season goes back to a calmer rythm, with only four selections broadcast tonight across Europe. Up North, Iceland will select its act for Basel, and Sweden will broadcast Melodifestivalen’s fourth heat, while Germany and Portugal will organise semi-finals in their respective selection.
🇮🇸 Iceland – Söngvakeppnin 2025 – Final
When?

Who?
Six songs will compete to represent Iceland at Eurovision in Basel. After being mandated to perform in Icelandic during the semi-finals, acts have been allowed to switch to an English version for the final, and four out of six acts have chosen to do so.
They will perform in the following running order:

- Bjarni Arason – “Aðeins lengur“
- Júlí & Dísa – “Fire“
- Væb – “Róa“
- Tinna – “Words“
- Stebbi Jak – “Set Me Free“
The evening will be hosted by Benedikt Valsson, Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir and Fannar Sveinsson.
Format
After using a 100% televote formula in its semi-finals, Söngvakeppnin will select its winner through a 50/50 split of international jury and televote.
🇸🇪 Sweden – Melodifestivalen – Heat 4

- Physically, at the Malmö Arena, in Malmö
Who?
Six songs will compete in the third heat of Melodifestivalen, competing for two direct spots to the final (“direkt till finalen”). The show will see the return of 2015 Melodifestivalen and Eurovision champion, Måns Zelmerlöw, who is seen as a favourite to return to Eurovision, 10 years after his victorious performance in Vienna.

Format
Melodifestivalen only uses the televote in its heats. The top two entries will qualify directly to the final (in five weeks), and the song coming in third position will go to the “Final qualification” wildcard round (the newest version of the “Andra chansen”/second chance round), which will take part directly after Heat 5, on March 1st.
🇩🇪 Germany – Chefsache ESC 2025 – Semi-final

Fourteen acts have qualified from last week’s two heats, and will perform their Eurovision song for the first time during this unique semi-final. At the time of writing, no running order has been published and not all the songs have been released or has had their names revealed. Nine artists will qualify for the final, chosen by a jury alone. The jury will be composed of :

- Elton (comedian, TV host)
- Max Giesinger (popular singer, former Eurovision juror for Germany in 2018 and 2022)
🇵🇹 Portugal – Festival da Canção 2025 – Semi-final 1

Ten acts will perform in this first semi-final, in the following running order.

The show will be hosted by Jorge Gabriel and José Carlos Malato.
Format
Six acts will qualify, through a two-round system:
- In the first round, a 50/50 mix of televote and jury will select five first qualifiers
- In the second round, a single, sixth finalist will be selected by a single new round of televote
The jury will be composed of seven members, with a few familiar faces for Eurovision fans:
- Iolanda (who won the Festival last year, representing Portugal in Malmö 2024)
- Miguel Ribeiro (lead and guitarist of The Happy Mess, competed at the 2023 Festival)
- Kady (singer-songwriter from Cape Verde, competed at 2020 Festival)
- Tiago Nacarato (singer-songwriter, co-writer of Passe-Partout for the 2020 Festival)
- Fábia Rebordão (singer-songwriter, writer of Pontas soltas for Jonas at the 2022 festival)
- Margarida Pinto Correira (actor, journalist and podcaster)
- Martim Sousa Tavares (orchestra director and music composer)
