Abor & Tynna win selection to represent Germany at Eurovision 2025

After going through qualification heats and the semi-final, Abor & Tynna have won the final of ESC Chefsache 2025 and will represent Germany in Basel, with their song “Baller”.

To win the selection, “Baller” first had to go through to the second round of the Final, with only five out of the nine participants being selected by the jury to go to the next phase.

The final ranking, and thus the winner, was determined solely by public voting, with texts, phone calls and online votes through the Eurovision platform esc.vote being accepted.

The top five, with the percentage of public votes received, was as follows:

  1. Abor & Tynna – “Baller” (34.9%)
  2. Lyza – “Lovers on Mars” (31.1%)
  3. Moss Kena – “Nothing Can Stop Love” (22.6%)
  4. Leonora – “This Bliss” (7.0%)
  5. The Great Leslie – “These Days” (4.4%)

With this choice, Germany will send its first entry fully in German since 2007’s “Frauen regier’n die Welt” by Roger Cicero.

As a “Big Five” entry, “Baller” already has an automatic spot in the Eurovision final, but will still perform in the second semi-final, as an exhibition act.

Do you agree with Germany’s choice? How high do you think “Baller” can rank in Basel? Is this the breakthrough Stefan Raab was looking for with its new selection process? Tell us more in the comments below, or on social media at @escxtra!
