Following his recent victory in Dora 2025, the Croatian representative Marko Bošnjak has hinted that he may consider changes to the performance of ‘Poison Cake’ for the Eurovision stage in Basel, Switzerland this May.
‘Poison Cake to be revamped?
Following the Grand Final of Dora 2025, Marko Bošnjak the newly crowned winner and Croatian representative for Eurovision 2025, shared his thoughts to local media during the post-final press conference. During the interview, Marko was asked whether there would be any changes to the song or performance of his entry, ‘Poison Cake’ before the Basel contest this May.
“We all really want to present Croatia in the best possible way and we have to see what can be changed. We will do our best to keep people satisfied.”
“We’ve been through so much in the past few months for this to happen. And now it’s happening. I’m in a state of shock. But I know I’ll do my best. We still have room for improvement. We can still improve a lot. I want to represent this country with all my heart and achieve the best possible placement.”
Despite the weight of a nation on his shoulders, following the success of Baby Lasagna in 2024, Marko is excited by the challenge ahead.
“I feel great pride and can’t wait to join the Eurovision community in order to do the best job possible in it.”
Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Croatia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country since 1993, and their only absences were in 2014 and 2015. Croatia are currently enjoying a newfound success in the contest following a run of poor results in the 2010s. Earlier this year it was the turn of Baby Lasagna to represent the Balkan nation with the entry, ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’. During the Malmö contest, Baby Lasagna achieved Croatia’s best result in the contest with second place, scoring 547 points.
