HRT the national broadcaster of Croatia has opened the song submission window for its upcoming selection Dora 2026. The winner will represent the Balkan nation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 taking place in Vienna, Austria next May.
🇭🇷 Dora 2026 opens for song submissions
Since 2019, Croatia have used the revamped Dora format to select its Eurovision entry. Once again HRT will use this selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The song submission process will remain open November 23.
The expert jury will select 24 songs for the live national final. As well as this, four reserve entries will also be chosen. Official music videos or lyric videos will need to be provided by January 5. The standard Eurovision rules of song submission applies to all entries. HRT has also announced it will cover the cost of travel and accommodation of the winner for the Vienna participation next May.
Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Croatia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country since 1993, and their only absences were in 2014 and 2015. Croatia are currently enjoying a newfound success in the contest following a run of poor results in the 2010s. In 2024 it was the turn of Baby Lasagna to represent the Balkan nation with the entry, ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’. During the Malmö contest, Baby Lasagna achieved Croatia’s best result in the contest with second place, scoring 547 points.
Earlier this year, Marko Bošnjak won Dora 2025 with his entry ‘Poison Cake’. Unfortunately it failed to make the Basel final, achieving 12th place in the first Semi-Final.
