BNT and Bulgarian government hold first planning meeting for Eurovision 2027

After confirming its intention to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Bulgaria next May, initial hosting talks have begun between the winning broadcaster BNT and its national Bulgarian government.

Next May the contest will take place in Bulgaria following DARA’s victory with, ‘Bangaranga’. In the aftermath, BNT confirmed the bidding process will commence in the coming days. The focus will be on venue suitability, proximity of the nearest airport and infrastructure.

Milena Milotinova, (Director General BNT) and Evtim Miloshev, (Minister of Culture for Bulgaria) have now met to discuss the early planning framework for Bulgaria’s upcoming hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 next May.

“We must deliver at a high level as hosts, and BNT will rely on all institutions that can assist. That is why I began discussions on Sunday by phone from Vienna, alongside receiving congratulations for the victory.”

Over the coming weeks further assessments will be conducted once the official bidding process commences. This will include discussions regarding finances, security arrangements, venue availability, tourism, infrastructure and wider events in the host city. Already a number of cities have declared interesting in hosting.
