🇧🇬 Varna for Eurovision 2027?
Next May the contest will take place in Bulgaria following DARA’s victory with, ‘Bangaranga’. In the aftermath, BNT confirmed the bidding process will commence in the coming days. The focus will be on venue suitability, proximity of the nearest airport and infrastructure. One of the early cities to throw its name in the Eurovision 2027 hosting ring is Varna. It is the third largest city of Bulgaria. Most notably, also the hometown of our newly crowned Eurovision winner, DARA.
Speaking to national media in Bulgaria, the Mayor of Varna has proposed his city as a contender to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Mayor Blagomir Kotsev highlighted the tourism potential of the coastal region and the youthful vibrancy of Varna. Declaring that it has every right to be in the hosting conversations. The city is renowned for its international music festival Varna Summer. Later this year it will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Located on the Black Sea coast, the popular seaside resort has a population of roughly 420,000 in its metropolitan area. However, the obvious limitation for any bid is the venue.
