New Music Friday – this week with Duncan Laurence, Hurricane, Benjamin Ingrosso & more!

Ten of the best new songs from Eurovision artists!

Another week comes to an end and that means it’s New Music Friday! So it’s time to share the best new releases from the Eurovision world this week. Over the following pages is everything you need to know for your weekend playlists!

Duncan Laurence – ‘Wishes Come True’

First up on New Music Friday is Eurovision 2019 winner Duncan Laurence. The ‘Arcade‘ singer returns this week with his first ever Christmas single. Proving that wishes do come true, Duncan gifts a present to his fans in a warm festive tale of family bonding time on those cold Winter nights.

I have had a love for Christmas from an early age. The lights, presents and the delicious food. Gradually I have come to appreciate other things around Christmas. It’s not so much about the materialistic things anymore. It’s more about the time we spend with the people we hold dearest. I can wish for nothing more than to be surrounded by the people I love.

Hurricane ‘Legalan’ and ‘Koraci’

Not one, but two songs, the Serbian trio of Hurricane deliver us a whirlwind of new music this week. Both songs showcase a different side once again to the ladies after their laid-back Summer anthem, ‘Do Neba‘. Not so loco loco, they take us down to a slower piano melody pace on ‘Koraci’ or ‘Steps’. A song that defines the steps taken in overcoming a lost love. Meanwhile ‘Legalan’ or ‘Legal’ is a tribute to traditional Serbian Turbo-Folk and is about a couple that are already in relationships with other people.

Benjamin Ingrosso – ‘Man On The Moon (Alan Walker)’ and ‘En dag när du blir stor’

Almost three years on from Norwegian DJ, Alan Walker’s debut album Different World, now he’s on the moon with Sweden’s Eurovision 2018 representative, Benjamin Ingrosso. Together they bring the latest single from Alan’s new collaboration project, World of Walker. With out of this world, astral beats Benjamin makes the moon sound like the coolest place to be. Another artist with a two-for-one deal this week, Benjamin has also given us a Christmas treat in, ‘En dag när du blir stor’, yet this is a sad festive tale of a childhood without a father at the family table and staying hopeful for better times and family Christmas as an adult.

THE ROOP – ‘Ohmygodable’

For the most part we don’t include national final entries in New Music Friday. However THE ROOP took everyone by surprise this morning, with a curious ‘Eurovision 2022’ tag on latest music video, ‘Ohmygodable’. Of course that means they have ensured the fandom definitely feels that way! Maybe this is a sign the Lithuanian group are heading back to Pabandom iš naujo!?
