🇷🇸 Hurricane release new music video ‘Do Neba’

The trio take us to heaven in their follow up to ‘Loco Loco’

As we kick back and relax into the weekend, Serbia’s superstars Hurricane return with their new single ‘Do Neba’ storming onto our playlists. Serving up a summer sizzler to follow up their Eurovision 2021 entry, ‘Loco Loco’. As we all tentatively emerge from our lockdowns and dare to think about holiday adventures again, the girls have ensured we have an anthem ready!

‘Do Neba’

New single ‘Do Neba’ or ‘To Heaven’ in English, is Hurricane’s first single since the Rotterdam contest in May. Here the girls say hasta la vista to the lockdown blues and instead want to get loco loco for the Summer! This more laid back single, compared to their usual Category 5 level Balkan pop, fits the mood perfectly. Being soothed on the musical wave of synths and sax, as we imagine ourselves on a private beach sipping cocktails. Meanwhile the music video interplays with the theme of the song. As the girls don their beachwear and relate the feeling of being lost at sea, while Sanja, Ksenija and Ivana sing out the pain of being parted from a long distance love.

The music video was filmed on the paradise Indian Ocean island of Zanzibar, Tanzania. Where the trio have been enjoying some downtime while preparing new post-Eurovision projects. ‘Do Neba’ was written and produced by lead member Sanja Vučić along with Albanian-Kosovar composer Aida Baraku, and Darko Dimitrov. Many will be familiar with popular North Macedonian record producer Darko. With his credits for many Eurovision entries such as: North Macedonia (2006, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2019), Albania (2015), Serbia (2018) and of course working with Hurricane on ‘Loco Loco’.

Hurricane in the Eurovision Song Contest

Last year Balkan pop group Hurricane said ‘Hasta la vista’ to the rest of the competition in Beovizija 2020. They won with a maximum total of 24 points from the combined televote and jury scores. Thus expecting to take to the stage for Serbia in May 2020 at the Ahoy Arena, Rotterdam. However, just weeks after selection, the EBU had to unfortunately cancel the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. After much media speculation and public desire to see the girls return, RTS finally confirmed the news everyone had been waiting for in November 2020. Earlier this year RTS made the decision to hold an internal song selection for Hurricane. From which ‘Loco Loco’ was selected as the 2021 entry.

At the contest the sleek routine and high energy of their storm, surged Hurricane into the Grand Final. During the Final ‘Loco Loco’ finished in 15th place with 102 points. Serbia’s highest placing since 2015. As well as making Hurricane the most successful all female group since OG3NE’s 11th place in 2017. Back in Serbia, this success translated to their highest viewing figures since 2012. With 2.5 million views and a 43.1% share. Meanwhile the Semi-Final 2 show achieved Serbia’s highest ever ratings.
