Swedish singer Eric Saade has announced that he isolating at home after contracting COVID-19. He posted the news on his TikTok account yesterday, saying he remains feeling well despite having the virus.
Eric represented Sweden at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with “Popular”, finishing in 3rd place. He later went on to compete in Melodifestivalen again in 2015, as well as hosting the show in 2019.
“Feeling pretty okay!”
On Sunday evening, Eric posted a new video on his TikTok account, dancing to Drake’s “Toosie Slide” explaining that he had tested positive for COVID-19:

The singer, who has recently released his new single “Glas”, seems to be remaining in good spirit, as he says he feels “pretty okay”. Isolating at home was definitely not what Eric had planned! He was due to get married to model and influencer Nicole Falcani in Italy next month.
Sweden remains one of the only countries in Europe not to have enforced a lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic, despite death rates in the country being higher than their neighbour Norway, who imposed a lockdown last month.

In 2011, Eric Saade entered Melodifestivalen for the second time, after finishing third at the national selection the previous year. After winning the Melodifestivalen final with 193 points, Eric represented Sweden in Dusseldorf with the song, “Popular”.
“Popular” won its semi-final with 155 points and went on to place third overall in the grand final. He finished the night with 185 points, including two sets of 12 points from Estonia and Israel. It was Sweden’s best result since Charlotte Nilsson won the contest in Jerusalem in 1999, and at the time was Sweden’s fifth third-place finish.
