In 2011, Eric Saade entered Melodifestivalen for the second time, after finishing third at the national selection the previous year. After winning the Melodifestivalen final with 193 points, Eric represented Sweden in Dusseldorf with the song, “Popular”.

“Popular” won its semi-final with 155 points and went on to place third overall in the grand final. He finished the night with 185 points, including two sets of 12 points from Estonia and Israel.
