On 11 November, Italian broadcaster Rai announced the first eight finalists for Sanremo Giovani. Another four will be added later.

After the 49 selected artists participated in auditions held in Rome, the Musical Commission – comprised of Amadeus, Federica Lentini, Leonardo De Amicis and Massimo Martelli – chose the following eight acts:

  • bnkr44, “Effetti speciali”
  • CLARA, “Boulevard”
  • Grenbaud, “Mama”
  • Jacopo Sol, “COSE CHE NON SAI”
  • Lor3n, “Fiore d’inverno”
  • SANTI FRANCESI, “Occhi tristi”
  • Tancredi, “Perle”
  • Vale LP, “Stronza”

The four remaining finalists will be selected from Area Sanremo, organised by the municipality of Sanremo and the Sanremo Symphonic Orchestra Foundation. Auditions are being held between 4 and 24 November, at the Sanremo Palafiori. A final audition round will be held on 25 and 26 November for the 20 most promising acts.

The twelve finalists will be competing in Sanremo Giovani 2023, to be held on Tuesday 19 December in the Sanremo Casino Theatre, which was the Festival di Sanremo venue from 1951 until 1976. The top three of Sanremo Giovani will be invited to participate in the Festival di Sanremo, from 6 to 10 February 2024 in Teatro Ariston, with another original song. They’ll be joined by 23 established artists selected by Amadeus.
