Yesterday we celebrated six Eurovision stars, and today we return with five. None of these had much success at Eurovision, result wise, even though some of them have enjoyed considerable success outside the contest. One of them has participated twice, on one occasion finishing dead last; Ketil Stokkan!
Seppo Sillanpää, 65
Seppo represented Finland at the 1971 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin. He did so as part of the group Markku Aro & Koivistolaiset with the song “Tie uuteen päivään”. They finished in 8th place, with 84 points.
Ketil Stokkan, 62
Ketil Stokkan represented Norway at both the 1986 and 1990 Eurovision song contests. On the first occasion he performed “Romeo” on stage in Bergen, on homeground, after Bobbysocks had won the year before. He finished 12th, with a performance and choreography that’s become iconic in the Euroverse. Four years later, in 1990, he won Melodi Grand Prix again, this time with the song “Brandenburger Tor”. This time he didn’t do as well, as he finished dead last, shared with Finland, with just 8 points.

Gerard Joling, 58
Gerard represented the Netherlands in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin. He performed the song “Shangri-la”, finishing in 9th place. He was also supposed to participate in 2009, as part of De Toppers, but due to a skiing accident, he couldn’t take part.
Anggun, 44
Anggun represented France in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. She performed the song “Echo (You and I)”. Being one of the Big 5, she didn’t have to qualify to the final through one of the semi-finals. In the grand final she finished 22nd out of 26 participating countries.
Magdalena Tul, 38
Magdalena represented Poland at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf. She performed her song “Jestem” in the first semifinal. This didn’t go as well as everybody expected, however, and she finished in last place with only 18 points.
