RTS has confirmed that Serbia will be present for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest that will take place in Minsk, Belarus!
The tenth country for 2018!
Silvana Grujić, an RTS member, has confirmed that the country will compete in the 2018 Junior Eurovision in Minsk. However, the broadcaster did not confirm the selection process for the Serbian entry but will announce it later.
Serbia is currently the tenth country to confirm their participation in the competition. Among the participants are Wales, who are making their debut appearance, and France, who will return to the competition after last taking part in 2004.
Serbia in Junior Eurovision
Serbia debuted in the competition in 2006 and has since then competed in 9 contests, missing the competition three times (2011, 2012 and 2013). This year will mark the country’s 10th appearance in the competition. So far, their best result is the 3rd place achieved on two occasions; in 2007 and 2010. Last year, Irina Brodić and Jana Paunović represented the country with the song “Ceo svet je naš” and placed 10th out of the 16 participants.
Will this be the year that Serbia will achieve their first victory in the competition?
