The Scoop🇸🇪 Sweden

LIAMOO and Klara Hammarström release Sweden’s Beijing 2022 anthem “Guld, svett & tårar”!

MelFest stars hoping to inspire a Guld-rush

They are said to be competing against each other at the upcoming 2022 edition of the Swedish Eurovision national final Melodifestivalen, but in the name of the sportsmanship they have teamed up to release the official Swedish Winter Olympic anthem.

The Winter Olympics are due to take part in the Chinese capital of Beijing, who also hosted the Summer Olympics 14 years ago in 2008.

Hoping to inspire a Swedish Guld-rush

The title “Guld, svett & tårar” literally translates into “Gold, sweat and tears”. They will hoping to inspire Sweden at the Winter Olympics as they are one of the titans of the games. With 57 golds, 46 silvers, 55 bronze medals and therefore a cumulative total of 158 medals they are the seventh best nation.

Teaming up, but not for the first time

This is not the first time LIAMOO and Klara work on a song together. Last year they released Christmas song “Make A Wish” together. Aftonbladet reports that for Klara Hammarström, who is a former competition rider and competed for the national team, it was obvious to say yes when she was asked to perform the song.

It’s so much more than just a song. It’s fun to be a voice for our athletes. I have dreamed of competing in the Olympics myself and this is almost as close as you can get, but in music.

LIAMOO says the song is “sporty and fresh with a lot of energy”. The song is written by SAMI, who also competes in Melodifestivalen this year in a duo Medina, together with Anderz Wrethov and Jimmy ”Joker” Thörnfeldt. These have written songs for Eurovision in the past, most notably for Cyprus where Anderz wrote “Fuego” and Jimmy composed “El Diablo”.

When two become two ones

LIAMOO will compete in Melodifestivalen 2022 with the song “Bluffin'” and will perform on the second semifinal of the contest. Previously LIAMOO has taken part in Sweden’s national selection twice, in 2018 and 2019 in a duet with Hanna Ferm. Klara Hammarström is returning to the contest for the third year in a row. Last year she competed with “Beat of Broken Hearts” and finished sixth in the final. In 2020 she failed to qualify to the final with “Nobody”. This year she will sing “Run to the Hills” on the fourth semifinal of the contest.
