2018 UK representative, SuRie, has announced she will be hosting her own online live concert, iSuRielation, on Sunday 29th March at 19:00 BST (20:00 CEST).
SuRie was set to co-host the London Eurovision Party this weekend alongside Paddy O’Connell. However, as a result of social distancing restrictions in the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic, the pre-party was postponed for the first time in its history.
Invites all around!
The “Storm” singer announced on her Twitter that she would be hosting her own online concert this Sunday.
Her “lockdown Eurovision party” will be held across SuRie’s social medias so you can all watch and sing along, on what would have been the night of the first pre-party of 2020.
SuRie called out to her fans on what songs they would like to see on her set list and many people have replied with their choices of some Eurovision classics from across the eras. Some of the requests include “Where Are You” (United Kingdom 1998), “Say Na Na Na” (San Marino 2019) and “Move” (Sweden 2020). One person even requested for KayRa’s “Alligator” from this year’s Lithuanian national final!
United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018
After winning Eurovision: You Decide, SuRie represented the UK in Lisbon with her song, “Storm”. Her performance in the final may be most remembered for the stage invasion from a man protesting against the “modern Nazis of the UK media”.
The song finished in 24th place on the night, scoring 48 points. The 2018 contest was SuRie’s third appearance at Eurovision after she provided backing vocals for Belgium in 2015 and 2017. After the contest, SuRie released her second album, Dozen, in February 2019.
Will you be watching “iSuRielation” on Sunday? What songs would you like to see SuRie perform?
