Zhazira Dyussembekova, the Kazakh Head of Delegation for Junior Eurovision, has revealed to ESCXTRA that they currently don’t have a “clear answer” on whether they will take part at this year’s Junior Eurovision. The contest is set to be held in Warsaw on 29th November.
This news comes after the North Macedonian Head of Delegation confirmed yesterday that they have “not yet made a decision” on whether to take part in the 2020 Junior Eurovision. Nine countries have so far confirmed their intentions to take part in the contest.
Will they be back for a third attempt?
With no news from Kazakhstan regarding their participation in Junior Eurovision 2020, ESCXTRA.com reached out to the Kazakh Head of Delegation to ask whether Khabar Agency plan to take part in the contest.
Unfortunately, right now I cannot give you a clear answer to the questions.

We would like to thank Ms. Dyussembekova for her speedy response.
Looking at last year’s dates, we expect a full list of participating countries in late July. The 2019 list was released on 18th July, so expect a similar date this year. We will keep you updated on the plans of all countries in the upcoming weeks and months.
Kazakhstan in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Kazakhstan made their Junior Eurovision debut in 2018, and after a successful result, they returned to the contest in 2019. Yerzhan Maksim represented the nation with “Armanyńnan qalma”. Scoring seven sets of 12 points from the juries, they gathered 148 points from the professional juries in total.
In the public online vote, they received a further 79 points, taking their total to 227 points. They finished in 2nd place overall, 49 points behind winners Poland.
Would you like to see Kazakhstan take to the stage in November? Are you worried more countries will not participate?
