🇦🇺 Australia: Montaigne teases “totally f****d” potential Eurovision 2021 entry

Australia's Montaigne is currently working on potential entries for Eurovision 2021

Back in April, SBS announced that Montaigne will return to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. She had been set to represent the country at the 2020 contest, prior to the contest’s cancellation. Having previously expressed her keenness to create her 2021 entry, she has given an exciting update via her Twitter.

With Eurovision 2021 still a long way away, it’s always appreciated to get an update from one of the participating artists. Of course, we are going into the pre-contest season next year knowing around half of the participating artists.

We already know that Greece’s Stefania, Ukraine’s GO_A and Moldova’s Natalia Gordienko have been working on their entries over the summer. Now, via her Twitter, Montaigne has updated fans on her progress.

According to a string of tweets, she has written and (presumably) recorded a demo for a potential entry, and it’s “totally f****d”.

But don’t worry, it’s a good thing:

Make of this what you will:

All we can say is that we hope her management like it so we can get to hear it!

Montaigne at Eurovision (so far)

Montaigne was set to represent Australia at the 2020 contest after winning Eurovision: Australia Decides in February. She would have performed the song, “Don’t Break Me”, in the first semi-final in Rotterdam on May 12th. However, she will have to send a new song due to the EBU announcing that the 2020 entries would not be eligible for next year’s contest.

I’m very keen to make new music, to produce a new song and figure out a new performance for next year. I’m sad I couldn’t do this year’s because I thought it was going to be really cool but really happy to get another chance at it… Stay tuned and watch this space because there’ll be stuff to come.

She also said that she was keen to produce her new entry for the contest, and urges people to “stay tuned”. Whether or not we will get to hear the song she’s teasing remains to be seen, but we hope we do!
