New Music Friday – this week with Stefania, Little Big, Mahmood & more!

Ten of the best new songs from Eurovision artists!

Robin Bengtsson – ‘Brother, That’s All Right’

Ahead of Robin Bengtsson’s rumoured return to Melodifestivalen next February, Sweden’s 2017 representative has been busy in the studio. Two weeks ago Robin returned to New Music Friday with new single, ‘If I was You‘. This week he brings us ‘Brother, That’s All Right’. Yet another side to his music, this new single taps into Robin as a man with emotions. Here he croons along to a guitar melody, as he explains that it’s OK to reach out if you’re struggling. A song many with brothers and friends of their own, will connect with.

Angélina – ‘Apparences’ (Album)

Next month France will host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the first time. Back in 2018 it was Angélina who kickstarted the French Revolution of Junior Eurovision, after a 14-year absence from the contest. Her quirky chanson ‘Jamais sans toi‘ finished second and her career since has been just as successful. The now 15-year old is back with her second album Apparences. The 12-track collection sees Angélina show a maturity in her pop sound. With ‘Héros’, ‘Relantir’, ‘En mode’ and ‘Bye Bye’ among many highlights. If you are a fan of Belgian artist Angèle, you’ll enjoy this!

I wanted to tackle in this second album, themes that speak to adolescents and social themes. “First amour” is about first love for example, so I hope that people will recognize themselves through the songs of “Apparences”.

Sara James – ‘Jak Co Roku’

Still fresh from winning ‘Szansa na Sukces and the ticket to represent Poland in Junior Eurovision next month with ‘Somebody‘, that hasn’t stopped Sara James bringing a festive treat to New Music Friday. Today she releases four-track Christmas EP Jak Co Roku or Like Every Christmas. The lead original single, is self-penned by Sara. Meanwhile the rest of the EP is melody of Christmas favourites re-imagined with Sara’s rich soul vocals.
