As the excitement builds for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Saint-Denis is set to host a special event. Slimane, who represented France at the last Eurovision Song Contest, will perform a free concert on Friday, July 26, 2024. This concert, which will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra and special guests, will be broadcast live on France 2 at 16:30 CET, just hours before the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
Slimane, who achieved a remarkable 4th place at Eurovision in Malmö, Sweden, is preparing for this unique performance in Place Victor-Hugo. His 30-minute concert is part of the festivities leading up to the Olympic Games’ grand opening ceremony, which will take place along the Seine from 19:30 to 23:00 CET.
Saint-Denis will play a pivotal role in the XXXIII Olympiad, hosting the Olympic village, athletics, diving, and water polo events in its new aquatic center, as well as the closing ceremony at the Stade de France. The Olympic torch, lit in April in Olympia, Greece, will arrive in Saint-Denis on July 26, before making its way to the Tuileries Garden for the opening ceremony.
Slimane’s participation adds to the excitement as Paris and Saint-Denis prepare to welcome athletes and spectators from around the world. His song “Mon Amour” earned 445 points at Eurovision, placing fourth, marking France’s best result since 2021.
