After much discussion with the EBU over the incidents that took place during Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. Stig Karlsen the former Head of Delegation for Norway confirmed that NRK are satisfied with the conclusions of the EBU’s independent review. Thus, the Scandinavian nation will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 next May in Switzerland. Once again, Melodi Grand Prix will be used to select the act that will represent the nation. NRK has officially opened the submission window for Melodi Grand Prix 2025. The deadline for artists and songwriters is September 1 2024. Any nationalities can apply, however it is recommended that at least one Norwegian songwriter is credited in the submission to promote Norway’s music interests. Each artist, producer or songwriter may only submit up to three entries for consideration. NRK also reserves the right to select artists of their choosing to perform a submitted entry. Furthermore, NRK can invite artists and producers of their choice to participate in the competition. All applications will be assessed by a Jury in October. The participants that advance to the live broadcast of Melodi Grand Prix 2025 will be published in January 2025.
