As the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 taking place in Madrid, Spain on November 16 rapidly approaches, many of the selected artists have begun releasing their competing entries.
Cyprus
As previously reported, Cyprus are returning to the competition after seven years away. They will be represented by UK-based, Cypriot singer, Maria Pissarides with, ‘Crystal Waters’. The song is written and composed by JESC 2014 representative, Sophia Patsalides along with Swedish producer, Armin Gilani. Petros Charalambous directed the music video which sets the scene for the light-hearted and fun nature of the entry.
Estonia
Recently, ERR confirmed their return to Junior Eurovision with ANNABELLE. The 13-year-old from Tartu has now released their Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 entry, ‘Tänavad’. The Estonian language, Drum and Bass fused song, means ‘Streets’ – a theme very close to composer Sven Lõhmus’ heart. Of course known as the hit-maker behind many of Estonia’s Eurovision entries such as, ‘Rockefeller Street’.
North Macedonia
It might feel like a marathon since Ana & Aleksej were announced as North Macedonia’s representatives back in July, however the duo are now ready to share their music video. ‘Marathon’ was written and composed by, Lazar Tsvetkovski and Magdalena Tsvetkovska. The pair previously worked on the 2019 entry, ‘Fire’. The video features prominent sights around the capital of Skopje.
Portugal
The Voice Kids Portugal 2024 winner, Victoria Nicole is now ready to drop the music video for her JESC 2024 entry, ‘Esperança’. For the first time, a Portuguese entry in the contest will also feature Spanish lyrics. The song, meaning ‘Hope’ in English was co-written by, Nininho Vaz Maia, Bárbara Tinoco and Victoria herself. Many will remember Bárbara Tinoco from her two participations in long-running Portuguese music festival, Festival da Canção. Meanwhile, Nininho Vaz Maia was Victoria’s coach throughout The Voice Kids.
San Marino
Following a decade-long absence from the Junior competition, SMRTV announced it is back and ready to hit the Madrid stage this November with Idols SM. The quartet have now released their entry. During Sogna ragazzo sogna Idols SM performed two songs, with the jury deciding on, ‘Come noi’. The song was written and composed by Miodio who took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 as the debut act for San Marino with, ‘Complice’.
Spain
During the confirmation of Chloe DelaRosa as the host representative, RTVE revealed the potential entry would match Chloe’s music style. Now the Extremadura native has officially released the Spanish language pop song, ‘Como la Lola’. The song was written and composed by Luis Ramiro, Alejandro Martínez and David Parejo along with Chloe. Ramiro and Martinez previously worked on the 2023 entry for Spain.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024
A total of 17 acts will participate in the upcoming edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 taking place in Madrid, Spain on November 16. Still to reveal their entries are:
