Eurosong 2025 artists and songs released

As the anticipation builds for the upcoming Irish national final Eurosong 2025, the broadcaster RTÉ has revealed the artists and their songs that will participate in the live show on February 7.

Six solo artists to take part in Eurosong 2025

As announced during the The Ray D’Arcy Show, there will be six acts taking part in Eurosong 2025 this year – all of them solo artists. One artist will be revealed each day, along with their potential Eurovision entry. The live broadcast of the national final will be held on February 7 where a combination of jury and public voting will select the winner that will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland this May. The artists and their songs are as follows:

Bobbi Arlo – ‘POWERPLAY’

The first act announced for Eurosong 2025, Bobbi Arlo is a critically acclaimed up and comer in the Irish music industry. Entertaining fans at festivals and live shows across Dublin and beyond, with her sleek interplay of club-beats melded into songs with personal meaning. In 2024, she was named Gay Times & Coca-Cola Artist of the Year.

Reylta – ‘Fire’

Described as ‘Galway’s Alt-Folk Queen’, this Galway girl has been around the music scene in Ireland since 2017. After leaving her band to go solo in 2019, Reylta has not looked back, turning her poetic lyrics and connection to Ireland into her first album in October 2024. That fusion of folk and heritage ignites in the flames of ‘Fire’, which is co-written with former Irish representative, Ryan O’Shaughnessy.

Adgy – ‘Run Into The Night’

A familiar name to Eurovision fans, Adgy is returning to the national final after making his debut in 2023. Hoping to make a bigger impact this time around, Adgy has enlisted the help of Ivan Klymenko. Back in 2022, Ivan was part of the team that wrote the Eurovision winner of that year, ‘Stefania’. In ‘Run Into The Night’ we see sleek pop production blended with Celtic inspired instrumentation.

Samantha Mumba – ‘My Way’

Today, Samantha Mumba was the first of two big reveals by broadcaster, RTÉ. For over 20 years, Samantha has been a mainstay of the Irish charts. Back in 2000 the Irish singer-songwriter became an international star with debut single, ‘Gotta Tell You’. In the UK, Samantha has achieved six top 10 hits. In ‘My Way’ Samantha pivots from pop to a classical ballad with subtle Celtic flair.

EMMY – ‘Laika Party’

Back from the ‘Witch Woods’, EMMY makes a surprising Eurosong 2025 debut after trying to represent her native Norway back in 2021. This time the singer-songwriter brings an out-of-this-world experience in, ‘Laika Party’. An electronic anthem about the famous Soviet dog, Laika who entered space and orbited the Earth in 1957.

NIYL – ‘Growth’

The final artist competing to represent Ireland in Basel, is NIYL. Born in Limerick, NIYL uses inspiration from his surroundings and experiences in the queer community to bring a different style to the Irish music industry. This is encapsulated in the Eurosong entry, ‘Growth’. NIYL’s impactful sound is currently being developed into the debut album, Parish Is Burning to be released later this year. As a backing vocalist, NIYL has worked with established household names such as Rufus Wainwright and Dermot Kennedy. In his solo work, NIYL has collaborated with National Geographic Concert Orchestra on their award winning, Symphony for our World.

History of The Late Late Show Eurosong

Since 2009, The Late Late Show Eurosong Special has been a mainstay of Irish programming. The late night chat show is currently the longest running live talk show. It first aired in 1962.

Opting for internal selections after 2015, Irish broadcaster RTÉ came back to the format for Eurovision 2022, and has stayed true to it ever since. This makes it one of the rare national final not to take place on a Saturday, since “The Late Late” is broadcast on Fridays.

The first results of the return to a national selection were poor for Ireland, with two non-qualifications, before the victory of Bambie Thug in Eurosong 2024, last year. With ‘Doomsday Blue’, they managed not only to qualify but also finished 6th in the Grand Final, with what was one of the most impressive performance in Malmö. This was Ireland’s best result in the 21st century.
