After his first rehearsal today, Norwegian representative Kyle Alessandro was rushed to the dentist and underwent an emergency removal of a wisdom tooth. He has been ordered to rest until Wednesday.
Emergency operation in Basel
Kyle Alessandro, 19, had been suffering from some pain in his mouth since Monday. According to NRK, the pain went stronger today, and forced him to take painkillers in order to rehearse at the beginning of the production day.
After the rehearsal, he was rushed to the dentist, who realised his gum was infected, and proceeded to an immediate extraction of a wisdom tooth to ease the pain and fix the issue.
I didn’t think much of it and thought that it would probably go away after a few days, but since then the pain has only gotten worse and worse, until today. We started the day with the first rehearsal in the arena, and it went extremely well.

After the rehearsals I started to have quite a lot of pain again, so we had an emergency appointment at the dentist where the tooth was pulled.
Now the dentist has said that I have to rest until Wednesday, then this will be fine.
The dentist ordered him to rest until Wednesday, which is the day of his second rehearsal. This means he has cancelled his agenda for the next two days, which included additional rehearsals out of the stage, and interviews with the international press.
This is not the first time a Eurovision artist had to seek medical attention during Eurovision. Last year, Bambie Thug had to go to the hospital for food poisoning, for example. And in 2018, Czech artist Mikolas Josef hurt himself during the rehearsals and needed a few days to recover.
We wish Kyle a quick and smooth recovery, and hope he may perform to the best of his ability in the next rehearsals and in the shows.
