🇫🇮 Erika Vikman features on a new single by Finnish rap group

UMK 2020 runner-up, fan favourite Erika Vikman has new music out together with Finnish rap group Kymppilinja. The song “OMG” was released today. Listen to “OMG” Erika Vikman competed at Finland’s national selection Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2020 with the song “Cicciliona”. Despite being a big fan favourite prior the show, the song finished second behind the eventual winner Aksel Kankaanranta. “Cicciolina” was the favourite of the Finnish televoters, but the international juries placed her third. Recently Erika took part in Finland’s Masked Singer as “The Bee”. During the show she covered Cher’s “Believe” and Loreen’s “Euphoria” and eventually finished third in the contest. A few months after the release of her Eurovision entry ‘Attention’, Ulrikke has released here new single ‘What Would You do For Love’. For her new single, we see a more stripped back version of Ulrikke, which works very well with her vocals and the emotional depth of the track. Swedish superstar Lena Philipsson has released new music for fans to indulge in, just in time for summer! Her latest album Maria Magdalena is the first one she has released since 2015. About the album In an interview with Swedish newspaper Expressen, Lena talks about the album and the creative process. Ahead of the album release, the record label gave her free rein of the music videos and general imagery for the project. Lena admits that she likes being in control, which will come as no surprise to her fans – it’s a known fact that she used to sew her own stage outfits back in the day. Furthermore, Lena talks about the inspiration behind the songs on Maria Magdalena, including the lead single of the same name. Life is an ongoing process and I see that I’m constantly evolving and am affected by what’s happening. The inspiration is the happiness in life – love, friends, family, laughter, and kinship. Ella Lee Lahav, who placed second in this year’s Israeli Eurovision national selection show HaKokhav HaBa L’Eirovizion, recently released her debut single “Zot Ani”. With more than one million views in just one week, this song is sure to be a massive hit across Israel. Runner-up to Eden Alene HaKokhav HaBa tends to be the longest national selection to be found in a Eurovision pre-season, particularly since the condensing of the Lithuanian selection format. With more than thirty episodes, followers of the selection definitely get to know the contestants. Eden Alene took victory in the final, earning the right to represent Israel in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest and has since been reselected for 2021 in response to the contest’s cancellation. 🇪🇪 Uku Suviste releases new single and music video “Müüdud ja Pakitud”

Last week, Estonia’s 2020 Eurovision Song Contest representative Uku Suviste released his new single “Müüdud ja Pakitud” alongside a brand new video clip! A change in style Uku was due to represent Estonia in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with his ballad “What Love Is”. Whilst ETV have chosen not to internally select him to represent the nation next year, he will be permitted to enter Eesti Laul should he wish to do so. Uku’s new single was composed by himself alongside Karl-Ander Reismann. Resimann also undertook production duties. Lyrics for “Müüdud ja Pakitud” were written by Hendrik Sal-Saller. In addition, the guitar on the track was played by Peter Põder whilst background vocals come courtesy of Inga Tislar, Ketter Orav and Violeta Osula. The song is different to Uku’s most recent Eesti Laul entries such as “What Love Is” and “Pretty Little Liar”. Of course, singing in his native language is the most noticable difference but the style of the track is much more relaxed and uptempo compared to the serious ballads we’ve heard previously. 🇮🇸 Greta Salóme releases new single “Án þín”

She’s back! Iceland 2012 and 2016 representative Greta Salóme has released a new single titled “Án þín” (Without you). A year and a half in the making The Icelandic singer and violinist released her latest single to her fans this week. Greta explained that “Án þín” is “an old version of a new song”. In addition, the project has been “one and a half years in the making”. The song is said to be an Icelandic version of “My World Is Empty Without You” by The Supremes. The original was written by Holland-Dozier-Holland, otherwise known as Lamont Dozier and brothers Brian and Eddie Holland. Furthermore, the trio wrote and produced many songs which helped define the sound of Motown in the 1960s. Eurovision 1996 winner Eimear Quinn, has recently released her new album “Ériu”, an orchestral album of Irish origin. The album, which was three years in the making, includes her new sing ‘The Watchmen’. For her new work, she has collaborated with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Upon the release of her new album, Eimear expressed her thanks for the people who has made her latest release possible. 🇨🇭 Sebalter releases new song ‘Corrono i Baci Corrono’

Switzerland’s 2014 Eurovision entrant, Sebalter, is back with a new song! Titled ‘Corrono i Baci Corrono’ (Run The Kisses Run), it is Sebalter’s third release from his new album ‘Gente simpatica’. Born Sebastiano Paù-Lessi, Sebalter became known in the Eurovision world when he represented Switzerland in 2014 with “Hunter of Stars”. In the grand final in Copenhagen, he finished in 13th place, which was Switzerland’s best result in 9 years. Also, he was only one of three Swiss entrants to reach the final in the last decade along with Anna Rossinelli in 2011 and Luca Hänni in 2019.
