Netherlands: Duncan Laurence releases acoustic version of “Arcade”

Prior to releasing the acclaimed video for “Arcade” back in March, Duncan Laurence had never released a song commercially. Now, Duncan has released an acoustic version of his Eurovision-winning song. The version is reminiscent of the demo that was floating around on the internet in the past couple of years. It has been two months since Duncan Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with “Arcade”. The song had previously existed in a more stripped-back demo form, prior to the official version being released in March. The version is accompanied by a new visual, reminiscent of the official video. Since the contest, the song has been certified double-platinum in the Netherlands. He has also embarked on a European tour and is currently work on his debut album. Who is Duncan Laurence? 24-year-old singer-songwriter Duncan Laurence graduated from the Fontys Rock Academy in Tilburg last year. He studied there as a singer, songwriter and producer and, during his studies, he also gained experience in London and Stockholm.  Duncan participated in The Voice of Holland back in 2014. John Lundvik and Molly Hammar star on Swedish dubs for The Lion King

This week sees the release of the CGI remake of classic Disney film The Lion King. Eurovision and Melodifestivalen stars John Lundvik and Molly Hammar have taken on the classic roles of Simba and Nala. By lending their voices and vocals to the dubbed Swedish version and the soundtrack. John Lundvik and Molly Hammar become Simba and Nala As one of the all-time highest grossing animated classics, it was long overdue that The Lion King would join the growing list of Disney’s modern adaptations. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the original classic and this week the new remake hit the box office. Although the worldwide release sees global stars Beyoncé and Donald Glover take on the famous roles of Disney couple Simba and Nala, localised versions are created for regional markets with native language dubs. Fresh from Tel Aviv it is this years Swedish entrant John Lundvik that becomes the world’s most famous lion, Simba for the dubbed version – Lejonkugen in Swedish. Alongside him as Nala is Melodifestivalen 2015 and 2016 entrant, as well as Ira Losco’s backing singer for ‘Walk On Water’ in 2016, Molly Hammar. Felix Sandman releases “Middle of Nowhere”

Melodifestivalen 2018 runner-up Felix Sandman released his new song “Middle of Nowhere” just in time for the summer – and we love it! Middle of Nowhere “Middle of Nowhere” is a laid-back pop song with a surprisingly catchy chorus – the perfect sound for the summer! Felix also performed the song on Ännu mera allsång, the online exclusive continuation of the televised show Allsång på Skansen. You can watch the performance here. Felix Sandman after Melodifestivalen His first appearance in Melodifestivalen was in 2017 as a part of FO&O. They ended second last in the final with “Gotta Thing About You”. In 2018 he returned as a solo artist with “Every Single Day” and finished in second place behind Benjamin Ingrosso. Felix and Benjamin later went on tour together and released two singles: “Tror du att han bryr sig” and “Happy Thoughts”.
