Lisbon 2018

Ieva Zasimauskaitė: “I think I will sing the end of my song in Lithuanian in Lisbon!”

At Thursday’s London Eurovision Party, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Lithuania’s Ieva Zasimauskaitė. Ieva joined our live stream from the press centre to answer several of your questions which you can watch on-demand below! Furthermore, check out the official recording of her London Eurovision Party performance of the beautiful When We’re Old.

Interview

During the live stream, Ieva revealed that she is planning to sing the ending of When We’re Old in Lithuanian in Lisbon, just as she did in the final of the Lithuanian national selection. A choice that pleased many of you guys!

A lot of people are asking me this question and they really like Lithuanian so I think I will do this. For me, this is my country and my language and I love it!

Ieva also teased us about what to expect on the stage in Lisbon!

It will be almost the same as in Lithuania because I think the most important thing is the song that I’m doing. I think if there was a show it’d be too much and I like that it’s pretty simple. But we’ll do something that people watching the television can see but nobody in the arena can see. We will have a surprise for you!

Also, Ieva answered lots of your fun questions too! Pineapple on pizza? It’s a big YES from Ieva! Watch Ieva talk to us about everything from, Spain’s Tu canción, her very own I Love My Phone, speaking Sanskrit and how to pronounce her last name! Oh, and of course that classic ESCXTRA question… your favourite tree!

Click play below, and our live stream recording will start from the beginning of our time with Ieva!

Performance

Ieva will perform When We’re Old in the first semi-final of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest on May 8th!

A massive thank you to Ieva for taking the time to talk to us, and we look forward to seeing you again in Amsterdam and in Lisbon!
