Did you hear? Eurovision tidbits! Week 26

A happy Swede, an Icelandic dreamteam, a wedding, an engagement and a duo who are finally old enough to do Eurovision!

Another week has passed, and I’m back with another handful of little tidbits from across the Euroverse to brighten your weekend! Or at least keep you entertained for a little while!

(Sp)ice girls for Eurovision 2019?

Elísabet Ormslev (Söngvakeppnin finalist 2016), posted this pic on her Instagram this week. Most of you will recognize the faces in this photo; Svala (Eurovision 2017), Karitas (Söngvakeppnin 2018) and Salka Sól (Söngvakeppnin host). How grand wouldn’t it be to get an entry from these wonderful ladies in Tel Aviv?! (Yes, I’m assuming it’s gonna be Tel Aviv and will keep doing so until proven wrong!)
This pic is basically four friends goofin’ around at Secret Solstice festival in Reykjavik, but one can hope, right?!

A joyful, celebratory skinny dip!

Måns is very happy Sweden has advanced from the group stage in the football World Championships! And so are a lot of his fans 😛 If this celebration is a promise of things to come should Sweden continue playing well and winning matches; a lot of Måns-supporters will turn into Sweden-supporters! So now; where is his celebration of Sweden winning its group?

Martin Vucic tied the knot!

Happy news in from Macedonia, as their 2005 representative Martin Vucic recently married his long-time girlfriend Sanya in a beautiful ceremony! The bride was stunningly beautiful in a fitted, lace dress, and the groom very handsome in his tux.

We’re guessing Sanya really made his day (sorry, I just had to!)!

Lene Alexandra got engaged

Lene Alexandra, who participated in Melodi Grand Prix twice, in 2008 with “Sillycone Valley” and again in 2010 with “Primadonna“, just got engaged to boyfriend Karl Erik Overn. They both announced this on their instagram the other day;

Lene Alexandra’s post read “I’m getting married to @karlerikovern”

Karl Erik announced jubilantly; “She said yes!”

Will Marcus and Martinus take part in MGP2019?

As we reported a few days ago; Eleni Foureira won the title “Best Female Modern Artist” at this week’s MAD TV Awards in Greece. She was however not the only Eurovision related award winner. Two 16 year old boys, twins Marcus and Martinus, from Norway enjoy massive success in Greece, and they won the “Best International Act”!

The twins, who are now FINALLY old enough to have a go at Eurovision if they so desire, won Melodi Grand Prix 2012 with the song “To dråper vann (Two drops of water)”.

Since then they have turned into Norway’s Justin Bieber(s), with girls going a bit mad over them. Among other things, they have released the song “Girls!” together with Madcon. As we saw at the MAD TV Awards; they’re not popular just in Norway. The reception they got from the fans was so massive that, at one point, the hosts had to stop what they were doing and ask the audience to quiet down! Do you think Marcus and Martinus should enter MGP?
I’ll be back with more little tidbits from around the Euroverse next weekend. Until then; keep enjoying summer, wherever you are! Meanwhile in Iceland;
