EBU responds to claims made by Turkey’s TRT

Last week, TRT’s general director revealed that, under certain conditions, Turkey would be open to joining Eurovision once again. However, this would depend on artists that may break away from the norm, such as Austria’s 2014 winner Conchita Wurst, not participating in the contest. Furthermore, TRT still doesn’t agree with the contest’s voting system. The EBU has now responded to these statements by saying that “the Eurovision Song Contest’s values are of universality and inclusivity and our proud tradition of celebrating diversity through music.
