πŸ‡©πŸ‡° DR to keep Dansk Melodi Grand Prix behind closed doors due the coronavirus

The Danish broadcaster DR has just announced that this year the final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be held behind closed doors, meaning the audience can’t attend the event. This is due the outbreak of coronavirus.

Up to 10,000 Danes have purchased a ticket for the final, but they are now not allowed to enter the arena. This is a direct consequence of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s announcement on Friday morning that the authorities are calling for the postponement or cancellation of all events where more than 1,000 people are gathered.

We are going to make it as a big TV production, which we can still watch at home in the living rooms, but it will be a show without audience in the hall.

DR spokesman Gustav Lützhøft

Denmark will select their entry tomorrow, Saturday March 7. Ten artists will compete in two rounds of voting.
