As well as giving us a teaser with the release of ‘A Christmas Night to Remember’.

‘All I Want For December’ is the EP we want for Christmas!

After the recent release of their debut EP ‘Tomorrow Is Waiting‘ now it’s the turn of Christmas to get the festive sparkle of The Mamas. Next week on November 20 they will release the six song Christmas EP ‘All I Want For December’. Included in the EP are songs written both for The Mamas and by them too. With a mix of covers of classic Swedish Christmas songs given an English twist, as well as new songs. Just what we need at this time of year, as we remember the past and the present during these difficult times. The songs will be a moment of reflection. Yet you can expect with The Mamas, that they will offer love and hope too.

“We hope that our EP brings joy, but also a positivity, love and harmony – ’cause that’s all we want for December.”

‘A Christmas Night to Remember’

Ahead of the EP’s release the trio have spoiled us early with the first stocking filler ‘A Christmas Night to Remember’. One listen and you won’t forget! The song evokes all the traditional values of Christmas. It is The Mamas at their joyous best with added sleigh bells. It manages to stoke the warm Christmassy fire of the classic songs we all think of at this time of year. Although it is fun and festive, The Mamas always have a story to tell. Here it is a reminder to enjoy what we have and the true meaning of Christmas away from the marketing.

‘A Christmas Night to Remember’ was written after this tough year that we’ve all gone through. When everything is hard, you need to focus on all the good things you have around you. It’s not the gifts and all the commercials around Christmas that you are longing for, it’s your family, friends and loved ones. You need to remember that you are loved.”

This new original song has been written by Loulou Lamotte and Ash Haynes alongside another household Eurovision name in Sweden. Since he represented Sweden in 2014 with ‘You‘, Robin Stjernberg has turned to songwriting. Back in 2017 he co-wrote Robin Bengtsson’s fifth place entry ‘I Can’t Go On‘ and now he’s teamed up with The Mamas on this festive single.

The Mamas in the Eurovision Song Contest

In 2019, The Mamas came to prominence, as being part of John Lundvik’s entry for Sweden ‘Too Late For Love’. Their participation saw Sweden place fifth overall in the 2019 competition.

A year later, The Mamas were announced as one of the participants, at Melodifestivalen 2020 with their song ‘Move’ which was written by Melanie Wehbe, Patrik Jean, and Herman Gardarfve. The trio managed to win the ticket to Eurovision 2020 by one point. Which is the tightest winning margin at Melodifestivalen since 2014. Unfortunately due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic the EBU announced earlier this year the cancellation of Eurovision 2020. However hope springs eternal and if rumours are to be believed The Mamas could be making a 2021 Melodifestivalen return!
