The Baltic nations of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia are once again set to make a return to Eurovision 2023, which will be held in the United Kingdom.
National Broadcasters confirm participation
Earlier this month, national broadcasters LTV (Latvia), ERR (Estonia) and LRT (Lithuania) confirmed their Eurovision 2023 participation to ESCToday.
At present, neither of the broadcasters have confirmed the selection method they will use to choose their 2023 representative. However, given that all these countries have traditionally used a national selection format, it is likely that this will continue next year. The Baltic trio at Eurovision
At Eurovision 2022, Monika Liu represented Lithuania with her song “Sentimentai”. Citi Zēni represented Latvia with their song “Eat Your Salad” and Stefan represented Estonia with his song “Hope”.
Latvia won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 with Marie N and the song “I Wanna”, and the previous year, Estonia won with Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL with their song “Everybody”. Lithuania has never won the contest previously in their 23 appearances, and their best result came in 2006 with LT United and their song “We Are the Winners”. Will 2023 provide Lithuania with an opportunity to finally clinch a win?
