While we await news from CyBC regarding Cyprus’s Eurovision entry for 2022, the creative team behind this year’s performance has been announced.
Marvin Dietmann and Dan Shipton have confirmed on social media that they will be responsible for the country’s staging this year. Both names have had previous experience in staging entries, with Marvin directing seven performances at last year’s event – Austria, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain, Croatia and Estonia. Dan Shipton has worked as creative director for the United Kingdom at Eurovision, between 2016 and 2018.
CyBC yet to break their silence
With the submission window just over a month away, we are still yet to hear any official word from CyBC on who they’ll be sending to Turin. Despite early rumours of Evangelia and Tania Breazou, national media have recently reported that the broadcaster are yet to select both an artist and a song.
Despite a lack of information regarding Cyprus at Eurovision in 2022, CyBC previously announced that they plan to hold a national final to determine the nation’s entry at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
