The Dance of Beauty will see the Pala Olimpico transformed into a giant disco, to celebrate a sound that the Italians have had great success and influence with outside their own borders – dance music! The interval will consist of Benny Benassi, Sophie and the Giants alongside producer, Dardust. This news comes after the news that Diodato will be awarded his opportunity to perform the Italian Eurovision Song Contest 2020 song ”Fai Rumore”. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to the Covid_19 pandemic.
Who is Benny Benassi?
Marco ‘Benny’ Benassi is an Italian producer and popular touring DJ who is widely regarded as a pioneer of electro house. He hit the mainstream with his 2002 hit “Satisfaction”. Since then, he has remixed singles by pop stars for example, Britney Spears, Katy Perry and Shakira. In addition produced songs for Madonna, John Legend and, recently, one of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest hosts, Mika.
Who are Sophie and the Giants?
Consisting of Sophie Scott, Toby Holmes, Antonia Pooles and Chris Hill, Sophie and the Giants are a British group formed in Sheffield. The band have performed at both Reading Music Festival and Glastonbury. Their song with Purple Disco Machine ”Hypnotized” went triple platinum in Italy. Sophie and the Giants collaborated with Italian singer Michele Bravi on the song “Falene” with Sophie singing in Italian.
Who is Dardust?
Dardust is Italian Dario Faini, one of the world’s most popular pianists. His music has accompanied some incredibly international events such as the Superbowl, the NBA All Star Game and the Olympic Games.
An accomplished composer and producer, he has released numerous Italian hits, amassing over 60 platinum records. He is currently working on a new project, to be released later this year. This shows he has decided to clearly separate his two music passions: acoustic piano and electronic.
His is most known to the Eurovision Song Contest thanks to the runner-up of the 2019 Contest, “Soldi”. Dardust co-wrote and produced for Mahmood.
So what combines all three? Well they have all collaborated on the Italo-Disco song ”Golden Nights”. You can listen to the song below.
