Back in June, Georgia chose its representative for Junior Eurovision 2022. Mariam Bigvava won the national selection Ranina against ten other young artists. Today, she released“I Believe”, her entry for Yerevan.
“I Believe” was internally selected by GPB, and was co-composed by Giga Kukhianidze and Beni Kadagidze and written by Iru Kchechanov. According to Eurovoix, Giga has composed 11 Georgian Junior Eurovision entries, including their three winning entries.
The music video was first revealed on the GPB evening news before being released on Youtube.
Junior Eurovision 2022
The 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on December 11th in the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan, Armenia. This is the second time that Yerevan is hosting the contest, after previously having this honour in 2011. A total of 16 countries will ‘Spin The Magic’ later this year. Georgia at Junior Eurovision
Currently, Georgia is the country to have won the most victories at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. To date, they have won a total of three times in 8 years. Having debuted in 2007, their first victory dates back to 2008 with the group Bzikebi and the song “Bzz”. The second victory dates back to 2011 and “Candy Music” by the eponymous group. Finally, the last victory was in 2016 with Mariam Mamadashvili who sang “Mzeo”.
Last year, Niko Kajaia represented the Caucasian nation with “Let’s Count the Smiles”, placing 4th with 163 points.
