While this is not my favourite in the UMK line-up, it’s still a very solid entry. The national final is just so strong that it’s hard to decide which one is the best! I love the vibe of the song, and the message as well. You can even understand it if you don’t speak Finnish, in my opinion. It’s something you’d hear on the radio, but it would absolutely do well in Eurovision as well. Plus, another song in Finnish is always great! |

We all knew this year would be challenging for YLE – selecting an act to follow Käärijä’s steps was not going to be an easy task. While several songs in this year’s selection are clearly trying to replicate Käärijä’s extravagance, the one song that stood out for me was precisely the one going in a different direction. The way Sara’s ‘Paskana’ builds up is very well constructed, topped by an impecable and modern chorus. Also, those last four notes hit just right! |
