TVP the national broadcaster of Poland have confirmed their intention to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 taking place in Basel, Switzerland next May. As well as this, TVP have revealed plans to revive their national final format to select the next Polish Eurovision representative.
TVP open submissions for revived national final
Since 2020, Poland have seen two non-qualifications to the Eurovision Grand Final in years they have used an internal selection. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that national broadcaster TVP have opted to return a national final format for its 2025 selection process. Submissions for the upcoming national final remain open until December 4. The rules and regulations are as follows:
- Owners of submissions must be Polish citizens. For bands and groups, the lead must be a Polish citizen.
- The submission must be a final version and not a demo track.
- The song must not have been released either fully or partially before September 1 2024.
- The melody must be original and not an arrangement of folk melodies.
- The music and lyrics may include the following languages: Polish, Kashubian, Belarusian, Czech, Lithuanian, German, Armenian, Slovak, Ukrainian, Karaim, Lemko, Roma, Tatar, English, French, Italian, and Sign Language.
- Entrants must be 16 or over by May 1 2025.
Following the closure of submissions, a selection committee will assess the entries and advance 25 acts to the audition round. This will commence on December 19. After this, up to 10 acts plus two reserve acts will be chosen for the live televised Final. However, TVP also reserves the right to offer one to three ‘Participation Cards’ entitling the act(s) to direct participation in the Final. The artists will be revealed on January 14 ahead of the live Final on February 14.
