🇦🇹 Austria will not debut at Junior Eurovision in 2020

Yet another country says "no" to 2020!

Austrian broadcaster ORF has confirmed to Eurofestivales that they will not take part in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw. The two-time Eurovision winners have never taken part in the contest’s junior counterpart, with no intentions for a future debut at this time.

The Director-General for the Marketing and Communication department confirmed that the broadcaster would not take part in the contest. ORF gave no further reason for their non-participation this year.

Junior Eurovision 2020 – what we know so far

Junior Eurovision 2020 will take place on November 29 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. The slogan for the show is ‘Move The World’. Following Viki Gabor’s victory on home soil in 2019, this will mark TVP’s second consecutive time hosting.

Note, unlike previous years, the show is due to be held in a TV studio, rather than an arena. The host venue is yet to be confirmed. However, both the ATM Studio or Transcolor Studio are in contention.
