As we are getting closer to finding out, who will be participating at the 2021 edition of Melodifestivalen. More and more names are being thrown in the hat, as to who will be the lucky 28 participants.
Aftonbladet, who has managed to name 20, out of the 28 participants of the 2020 edition of Melodifestivalen, is reporting that Eric Saade, Paul Rey & Arvingarna are among those participating, according to their sources.
Eric Saade
Kicking things off, Eric has participated in Melodifestivalen three times. He even had the opportunity to represent Sweden in Düsseldorf back in 2011, where Eric managed to bring Sweden back to the Grand Final after their non-qualification in 2010 and managed to place 3rd. Recently, he co-hosted the 2019 Melodifestivalen and have received a positive reception for his role.
In 2019, he was rumored to take part for 2020. However, this did not come to fruition. Aftonbladet is reporting that Eric is yet to decide in regard to participating.
Paul Rey
Next up on the list is Paul Rey, who made his debut in the competition this year, with his entry ‘Talking In My Sleep’. His entry was successful, as he made it through the final via Second Chance. He managed to placed 6th overall.
In addition to his entry, Paul also co-wrote Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron’s entry ‘Surface’ which managed to make the Second Chance round of the competition in 2020.
Arvingarna
Rounding off the list is Swedish dansband Arvingarna, who has previously participated in Melodifestivalen five times, and has represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest once. Their recent participation in 2019, saw them make the Final through Second Chance, where they managed to place 7th overall.
