From the eight finalists, three artists made it to the super-final based on the votes from the Danish public, who for the first time also could vote via the Melodi Grand Prix app. Again on the super-final, the winner of the contest was selected solely by the voters at home.

Denmark will compete in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. The Danish representative is set to perform on the second half of the show on May 10th. Last year, Fyr & Flamme won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with “Øve os på hinanden”. The song was Denmark’s first entry to be entirely in Danish since 1997. After closing the second semi-final, “Øve os på hinanden” placed 11th with 89 points. This was Denmark’s first non-qualification since 2016.
