Another week comes to an end and that means it’s New Music Friday! So it’s time to share the best new releases from the Eurovision world. Over the following pages is everything you need to know for your weekend playlists!
Go_A – ‘Kalyna’
First up on New Music Friday are Ukraine’s 2021 fifth place representatives, Go_A. This week they release new single, ‘Kalyna’. Together with their unmistakable industrial beats Go_A deliver a powerful message for Ukraine. An anthem to unite the country in their fight against adversity, as well as a tribute to the cultural symbolism of the kalyna. Which is a guelder rose that represents immortality and has deep meaning in Ukrainian history. All proceeds from the single will go towards Ukraine.
Cornelia Jakobs – ‘Fine’
Last weekend the former Love Generation member Cornelia Jakobs won Melodifestivalen 2022. Already ‘Hold Me Closer’ is one of the Eurovision 2022 favourites, after storming the domestic charts. Meanwhile the song has recently passed 5million Spotify streams. Only ‘SloMo’ and ‘Brividi’ have achieved more streams of the 2022 entries. Not content with that, Cornelia has released her next single! ‘Fine’ is a love ballad that blends Cornelia’s rich tone with synth elements. Below is the music video which showcases her creative artistry in styling and direction for this co-written track.
Todiefor feat. Mahmood & Poupie – ‘Bel Air’
Nobody seems to love a collaboration more than Mahmood. Soon in May we will see him return to the Eurovision stage for the second time with Blanco, on the duet ‘Brividi’. But for now Mahmood teams up with Belgian producer Todiefor and French singer Poupie for this bilingual slice of Summer. This tropical banger references the trappings of the ‘Bel Air’ lifestyle and working for what you have. As Mahmood gives the Italian RnB edge to Poupie’s soft French emotion.
Froukje, S10 – ‘Zonder Gezicht’
Although the ink is still drying on S10’s confirmation to represent The Netherlands this May, again we have another Eurovision 2022 artist ready with new music. This week S10 teams up with her good friend, Froukje on the experimental indie bop ‘Zonder Gezicht’.
