Rosa Linn releases Eurovision 2022 entry “Snap”

The penultimate Eurovision 2022 entry has been revealed!

Following the rumours circulating around various outlets about Armenia’s internal selection, Armenia have confirmed their selected artist for Eurovision 2022. Rosa Linn will bring Armenia back to the Eurovision stage for the first time since 2019 with “Snap”.

Having teased the announcement of their artist for early March, last week ARMTV confirmed that Rosa will fly the Armenian flag in Turin! 21-year-old Rosa rose to prominence late last year with her single “KING”, which has over half a million streams on Spotify. She came up through Eurovision 2015 alum Tamar Kaprelian‘s record label Nvak Collective.

Together with local and international focus groups, which included both professionals and fans of the contest, we have reviewed several applications from well-known, as well as new-coming artists. As a result, 21-year-old Rosa Linn was selected to represent Armenia in Eurovision 2022: a small town girl with a big heart and her own story. Our team is at the final stage of the production and we’re excited to share this story with the Eurovision community and the world.

Armenia’s withdrawal (and return)

In October 2020, it was announced that Armenia would not take part in the 2021 contest:

After careful and detailed discussions, the Public Television Company of Armenia has decided to withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, considering the latest events, the shortness of production time as well as other objective reasons that make the proper participation of Armenia at ESC 2021 impossible.

Broadcaster AMPTV

Athena Manoukian was set to represent Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song “Chains on You”. After the 2020 contest was cancelled, it was uncertain if AMPTV had the intention of giving Athena a second chance in 2021.
