1. 🇺🇦 Go_A – ‘Kalyna’ – (76 Points)

Choosing to make music, not war, Go_A become the winners of our New Music Friday top 10 of 2022 countdown with, ‘Kalyna’. The song uses the metaphors within the legend of the Kalyna tree to reflect on modern day Ukraine and call for peace. Further to this, the group donated proceeds to Ukrainian aid charities dealing with the humanitarian fallout from the invasion. Although the group came fifth in Rotterdam, that was not enough for band member Ihor Didenchuk who also found time to win Eurovision 2022 with Kalush Orchestra!
