New summery single from Ana Guerra and Juan Magán

Is summery even a real word? I don’t really know. What I DO know is that Ana Guerra had treated all of us who still have “Lo Malo” hopelessly stuck in our heads with a new single. This time she teams up with Juan Magán to get us all dancing to “Ni La Hora” which translates to “Not Even The Time” and talks about leaving behind a bad relationship. It’s a proven fact* that Tuesday is the least interesting day of the week, but that is NOT the case today as we bring your attention to the aforementioned track released just a few days ago. As you no doubt already noticed, there is another name attached to the single: Juan Magán. The Spanish record producer and DJ has worked with numerous famous artists and has now brought his signature Electro Latino sound to this project. Jalisse’s time is now with new single “Ora”

Jalisse are back! The legendary Italian duo have released their new single “Ora”. Along with the song, they’ve also released the official video, which you can see above! Jalisse: A Eurovision favourite For Jalisse, “Ora” marks their first single in three years time. Their last song with a video was “Faro de Estrellas”, released in 2015. The duo’s success in their home country has not been as big as it was before. Their name in the Eurovision fan world is, however, still a famous one. Jalisse have not let go of the Eurovision Song Contest. Just this year, they were part of the international jury in the Czech Republic to find their entrant for Lisbon. They tend to attend quite a few Eurovision themed events throughout the year. J’Aime la Vlie One of those events this year was the second edition of J’Aime la Vlie. The Dutch island of Vlieland then hosts a weekend long party with plenty of Eurovision stars. One of the organisers, Esther Hart, once represented the Netherlands at the contest. After participating, and finishing second, in Söngvakeppnin 2017, Daði Freyr has become one of the most popular singers in Iceland. The past year he spent in Cambodia with girlfriend Árný Fjóla. RÚV flew them home for this year´s Söngvakeppnin final, where they were the surprise musical perfomance. Now he is back in Iceland, he has released a great new track. It’s called “Skiptir ekki máli”, which translates to “It doesn’t matter”.  “Homemade” music video For the accompanying music video, he has decided to keep things in the family. Working with Árný Fjóla and his dad, Pétur, he has also made an amazing music video to accompany the new track! Slightly ironically he asks whether “this might be the new flossing”. In late March, Martin Stenmarck released his song, “Too Late” (video below). It has received a good welcome and has been played frequently on various radio stations in Sweden. Now there is a Swedish version of the song; “Du och jag”, meaning you and I. Du och jag The Swedish version came about after several fans had gotten in touch with Martin, asking him for Swedish lyrics. Martin wrote “Du och jag” together with songwriters Jacob Lindvall and Erik Fhager. The live world premiere of “Du och jag” will happen in the tv-show “Lotta på Liseberg” on Monday. However, you can listen to it on Spotify already today! Martin says that they wanted to change the song a bit, compared with the English version. They wanted dirty guitars, big drums and a new attitude both in the melody and the lyrics. Lithuania’s two time entrant Donny Montell is back with his latest single “Žiūrėk ką padarei” or “See What You’ve Done” in English. Donny Darko The second part of this native language double-hander along with “Nieko Verta“, new song “Žiūrėk ką padarei” sees Donny Montell continue with his darker, urban infused, electronic beats. Lyrically it’s just as dark too, describing a relationship that’s long soured and how someone can lose themselves to substances to fill the void. Written in collaboration with Melodifestivalen hit-maker of “Heroes” fame, Joy Deb, it’s a change in direction from Donny’s usual pop sound. Directed by Dominykas Bliznikas, the video enhances the vibe of the song, showing the highs and lows of the turbulent relationship. Also highlighting the struggles in dealing with the depression that can develop when it feels like there is no escape. Ilinca finds a creative way to pay tribute to her favourite Eurovision 2018 songs

Yodel-Ay-Ee-Oooo! No, those are not lyrics from Netta’s upcoming single, but actually the closest one can get to typing out the sound of yodeling. And the mention of yodeling can mean only one thing, Ilinca is back at it again! This time with a fun new video, where she (along with her cat) covers some of her favourite Eurovision 2018 entries. Have you ever wished to hear the chicken noises in “Toy” be replaced with some yodeling? Well here is your lucky day as Ilinca has made that dream come true! This isn’t just another cover of “Toy” though, she also takes a stab at plenty of other entries from this year’s contest like “Fuego”, “Lie to me”, “La forza”, “You let me walk alone”, “When we’re old”, “Tu Cancion” and “Dance you off”. Severina releases ‘Tutorial’ featuring Ljuba Stanković

Severina, Croatia’s representative in 2006, has released a music video to accompany her new song ‘Tutorial’. In the space of a week, the video has gone viral with over 4 million views on Youtube! The song, written by Jala Brat and Buba Corelli, is a teaser to Severina’s upcoming new album: Halo. The album is scheduled for release in the very near future. The popular songstress marks the second Croatian representative to release a song in the space of a week, with this year’s representative Franka releasing ‘Kao Ti I Ja’. The music video features a crystalline couple dancing and interacting with one another, while Severina shows off her fencing skills. While the video is visually arresting, the song itself is undeniably catchy, with a pounding beat acting as a ground bass throughout. Ljuba’s layered Eurovision influence Though incredibly young, Ljuba has several connections with the Eurovision Song Contest and it has clearly influenced his personal music taste. Franka releases “Kao Ti I Ja”!

Croatia’s 2018 representative Franka releases new Croatian language song “Kao Ti I Ja” and we are “Crazy” for it.  Summery Bop! Summer always brings about images of sun, sea and sand and this song captures all those images due to the song set to a gentle electronic pop fueled arrangement, accompanied with the use of pianos and guitars. Therefore it really gets you in the mood for a day at the seaside, or an afternoon by the pool. The summer mood is further aided by the song coming to a climax, with Franka being joined by a gospel choir topping off a great uplifting song. Summer Love Story! Directed by Sandra Mihaljević and Igor Ivanović, the video captures a summer romance between Franka and her boyfriend, with his lovely dog set at an island lighthouse in Croatia, ending with the loved up couple releasing a message in a bottle into the Adriatic Sea. If you’re looking for a happy, fun summer bop; look no further! 2017 Söngvakeppnin finalist Arnar Jónsson just released his new song “Dance Like No One’s Watching”, and we are all joining in!  A 60s brass bop! Fun summer songs are always a good thing. However, with the weather Iceland has experienced this “summer” (only four days without rain since the beginning of May!), it’s really needed! So when we heard Arnar Jónsson was releasing a new, happy summer song, we really got our hopes up. And we had every reason to! This is a 60s influenced bop with lovely brass elements and great vocals! Arnar is getting great help from his wife Hofi Samuels and Söngvakeppnin partner Rakel Pálsdóttir on backing vocals here, and their voices really complement each other.
